Srinagar, Aug 21 (KNO): A grassroots talent assessment camp organized at the University of Kashmir witnessed the first-ever identification of sports talent under the ‘Khelo India’ program at the university level.
At University of Kashmir, the Union Minister Raksha Khadse expressed enthusiasm over the initiative, highlighting the excitement and potential among young athletes.
“It felt very good because, for the first time, talent is being identified through ‘Khelo India’ at the university level. The children are also very excited and many talented individuals are emerging. So, I believe this is a positive initiative by Khelo India,” Khadse said as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
She added that the upcoming Khelo India water sports event will provide a platform for children of J&K to excel in sports.
“This is a very important event. The Indian Government’s team and our Sports Ministry’s team are making full efforts to elevate the children to the national level through sports,” Khadse said.
Notably, the camp reflects the central government’s commitment to nurturing young talent in Jammu and Kashmir and providing them avenues to showcase their skills on larger platforms—(KNO)
